Laura McCollough hosts beautiful faith-based creative retreats for women in the USA, Italy and other parts of Europe. Her existing retreat website design site needed a full overhaul and redesign with an online shop, fresh web copy and a brand palette to show off her stunning photography. I moved her site over from Squarespace 7.0 to 7.1 (the current version) and built it to work well on mobile.
The starting point
Laura’s existing site was on the older 7.0 version of Squarespace and she wanted a complete redesign. She also wanted a site that reflected the heart behind her business and had an online shop. Laura is a busy woman and was worried that the project would take up a lot of her time.

Full website redesign, moved from Squarespace 7.0 to 7.1.
E-commerce set-up for the online shop. All products added with fully integrated checkout process. Products included travel journals, devotionals, and digital gift cards.

The brand behind the site
The site needed to be minimal, modern and sophisticated. Laura also wanted the site to showcase the beauty of the places she hosts. She didn’t want the site to feel cluttered and overwhelming. The colours fitted around Laura’s colour palette that showed up time and again in her imagery. The warm terra cotta, subtle blue, neutrals and black. The brand style guide contains the various elements of her brand, including hex codes, brand assets, with typography and image particulars.
