โ€œI give Jane 10/10. ...Iโ€™ve had great feedback too from family and friends. One of my sisters said she could โ€˜hearโ€™ my voice as she read through the text and that it was so beautifully put together. My best friend said โ€˜Wow, itโ€™s amazing!โ€™ when I first showed the site to her, and as I said, my husband has been thoroughly impressed with the way you have worked throughout the process.โ€

What a joy itโ€™s been to work with this amazingly talented artist, Georgie Good.

I too have worked as a full-time artist and so right away, we had a beautiful artistic connection with lots to talk about!

Georgie has had a passion for drawing since she was a child and loves to see a drawing emerge and come to life on paper, in a way a photograph cannot portray. She loves hearing from past clients and hearing stories on how her art has brought pleasure, meaning and joy to others.

Georgie is a coloured pencil and graphite artist, specialising in portraits. She offers artwork commissions and you can also create with Georgie by booking 1:1 home drawing lessons, workshops and events with her.

From her art shop, you can purchase stunning fine art prints, key rings, A6 cards, digital gift cards, wooden coasters and other small gifts.

The Web Design Project

Georgie had been using a very limited Wix website and she felt the time was right to invest in her business. She needed help exploring her brand, finding the right words to express what she does and identifying how she can best serve her audience. Georgie also needed a website that she could edit easily and that would encapsulate the essence of her brand whilst showcasing her amazing skills and talents.

Brand identity

It was important for Georgie to first understand the needs of her dream clients and so our time together began with extensive work and discovery around understanding the dynamics of her brand. Georgie felt this process was invaluable.

Visual elements

Next, my attention turned to the visual impact of her brand ie. fonts, colour palette, graphics, mockups and images. After adding Georgieโ€™s gorgeous artwork to the shop, it was important for me to design additional bespoke visuals to compliment her new brand identity.

Words for the website

Next up was finding the words to express the heart behind Georgieโ€™s brand and offerings. Using my process including lots of tips and prompts, Georgie was able to express her business and the heart behind her brand, in a focused and authentic way. Georgie explored the needs of her clients and customers and how she can meet their needs using her strengths and skills. Lastly, I sifted and edited through her words and incorporated them into the site.

Website design

The last step involved designing and launching Georgieโ€™s new website on Squarespace 7.1 with e-commerce capability so that she can sell her beautiful artwork, offer 1:1 drawing lessons and connect with clients who would like to commission her for a portrait etc.

It was also important to Georgie that she could navigate the back end of her site with ease and add more items to her growing shop when she needs to. I provided bespoke training videos to enable Georgie to feel confident about moving forward with her site.

Extra work

  • An accessibility function was added for those that might want to tweak contrast, text spacing, animations, line height etc. when viewing the site.

  • I designed a favicon to reflect Georgieโ€™s brand.

  • On pages with a lot of content, I split the text into coloured blocks/sections to improve readability and overall user experience for visitors.

  • To visually guide and navigate Georgieโ€™s audience around the site, I created bespoke services icons that complement the brand.

  • To enable Georgieโ€™s audience to imagine her artwork in their homes, I created bespoke artwork mockups.

  • I designed and integrated a new email signature to carry on the look and feel of Georgieโ€™s brand when communicating with clients and customers.

  • Lastly, I designed business cards and A5 leaflets to show off Georgieโ€™s beautiful artwork, her art shop and the other services that she offers.

Results

Georgie now has a brand and website that successfully delivers on increasing Georgieโ€™s credibility as an established and thriving artist. The back-end of the site is proving easy for Georgie to navigate and to add more items to her shop.

Conclusion

Georgie now has a totally new and updated website with a brand that truly embodies her work. Her words, visuals, favicon, images, graphics, and fonts now all complement her business.

It's been wonderful working with Georgie on this projectโ€ฆ Do visit her website and say โ€˜Hiโ€™.
