The Art Of Contentment - Meet My Invited Guests

Today, I’m thrilled to share my guest list for my upcoming class entitled The Art Of Contentment that goes live on 1st January 2019. I have 12 amazing women who will be sharing on the topic of ‘contentment’ as creative women living in a busy world. Hear/read/see their insights for living a slower life and finding contentment from within.

You’ll be hearing from successful photographers, artists, coaches, designers and authors - how do they find contentment? I think you’re going to love this - art and soul combined!

Let’s enjoy 2019 together as we paint through the year with soulful portraits and enjoy contributions from guests (and myself) on their insights for living a slower life and finding contentment from within.

Art helps us to switch off from the pressures of a busy world and enables us to reconnect with ourselves, refocus our priorities and slow down.

How It Will Work:

* Each month, I'll share with you a new and extensive soulful portraiture lesson. We'll be dabbling with various supplies and styles and creating paintings using acrylic, ink, watercolour, pastels, charcoal, collage, gold leaf, perhaps some clay and of course, using basic supplies such as graphite etc.

Along side the art, look forward to being inspired by other creative women and how they find contentment in a busy world. We’ll be hearing from talented artists, photographers, designers, writers and coaches - all with busy lives but with useful tips and heartfelt reflections to help you slow down. (See my amazing guest line up below)!

Make 2019 the year that you reconnect with who you are and what's important. Give yourself this monthly gift and watch how your year blossoms as you immerse yourself in portrait painting, slowing down, finding rest and discovering an inner contentment.

Early Bird Offer For New Online Class - Picasso's Rose Period

If you've enjoyed this post, please consider clicking the image and 'pinning' it...

I'm excited to share that my latest class, A Painterly Jaunt Into Picasso's Rose Period has opened up for registration and is available for purchase at an early bird price of £35 (this will increase to £49). The classroom is due to officially open on or before Wednesday, September 25 2018.

The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web.
— Pablo Picasso

Why this new class on Picasso?

Well, we've all heard of Picasso but not necessarily his 'Rose Period' which in French, 'Rose' means pink. This comparatively short time was from the latter part of 1904 until 1906 and came right after his Blue Period which marked a particularly difficult time for Picasso after losing a very good friend of his.

The Rose Period saw the beginnings of a new relationship for Picasso and happier times, hence the change of palette to brown, oranges, red ocher and rose together with the change of focus/subject in his work. After delving into his paintings and being captivated by what I saw and painted, I couldn't wait to share this with you!

Who is this class for?

This class is for anyone who would like to explore Picasso and be inspired by the way he used colour and evoked mood during his 'Rose Period'. Enjoy creating paintings that feel tender and intimate, with warm colours and self expression. Take Picasso's lead and then 'go your own way, with me as I guide you.

There's so much to share with you and I hope you'll come paint with me...

Where do artists find their inspiration #9 Podcast

Where do artists find their inspiration

Tips and suggestions...

Where do artists find their inspiration. Today I share suggestions for finding imagery and inspiration when creating your own artwork.  For those times when you're drawing a blank and by the time you do have a subject in mind, you're tired out!  Of course, the short answer is that there is inspiration everywhere, the long answer is found on the podcast lol.

Where do artists find their inspiration

I discuss using whatever inspiration you have right in front of you - perhaps a teapot, plant or pattern on a curtain even.  Then how about nature - seed heads, shells, birds and then of course the internet, photos and magazines etc.  Later I discuss how to collage all this source material so that you have it to hand whenever the mood strikes to create.

I do hope you find this episode useful and the next time you can't think of what to paint, you'll have a plethora of inspiration at your fingertips to turn to.

Remember, please send me your questions, comments or ideas – I’d love to hear from you.
